King's latest achievement as a writer and director is the darkly funny short film, "MILK" which was produced by his production group, Under the Radar Productions.

"MILK" won him the Audience Award for Best Short Film at the 2004 Dances With Films festival, and Best Black Comedy Award at the 2004 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival. With the combination of his many years as a musician and his love of film, it seemed only fitting that John would also become a music supervisor. His work in this field has been heard on such television shows as the critically acclaimed cult hit, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" , the spin-off series, "Angel", ABC's, "Miracles", CBS', "Ghost Whisperer", and "Blade: The Series" for Spike TV and New Line Television.
